These are high quality, german design quartz clock movements that are regulated by a radio signal for extra accurate time keeping. As long as the radio signals regulating them are in operation they will be accurately regulated and are particularly useful for sets of clocks. In general, they set themselves automatically and will change to summer and winter time in accordance with the signal.

When you order your radio controlled Tik Tok Clocks you must specify where the clocks will be used as this will govern what movement your clock is fitted with. We provide radio controlled clock movements for use in:

• US - four time zones (EST, PST, MT & CT) regulated by the WWVB atomic clock time signal from Colorado. This can be received throughout the United States
• UK - regulated by the MSF atomic clock time signal from the National Physical Laboratory's clock in Rugby
• Germany, France, Switzerland - regulated by the DCF atomtic clock time signal at Mainllinger near Frankfurt

Radio signals can be blocked out by mountains, underground locations or other geographical features and can be disrupted by metal clad buildings, high voltage cabling and other items that send out electronic interference. Please take the location of use into account before choosing a radio controlled clock.

As a rule we would not fit a radio controlled movement in a clock for Southern Hemisphere locations. This is because when clocks in the Northern Hemisphere go back in the autumn clocks in the Southern Hemisphere go forward, so the effect cancels out. A quartz clock movement would be fitted instead.
